Welcome to the Roman Catholic community of the Immaculate Conception,
located in Jim Thorpe, PA. We welcome you to our parish website.
Please feel free to visit
often to learn about who we are as a community of
faith
and the services our parish provides. If you are thinking about moving to the area,
we cordially
invite you to make Immaculate Conception your parish home.
Immaculate Conception Parish was founded in 1848 to serve the needs of God’s people in this beautiful area.
We are still
a vibrant parish family, grateful to God. We do today what we have been doing for nearly 150 years-we
welcome into our family
all who come to us. We proclaim the love and the mercy and the concern of our God for all
people. We provide a parish community
in which people can come together to worship and love their God and to find a
fellowship with each other that is truly warm
and inviting. We delight in passing on our precious Faith to our
children who are the future.

BAPTISMS
Beginning September 1, 2010, parents who wish to have
their child baptized must attend a Baptism class.
Classes are held once a month and you must register by calling the
Rectory office. Baptism will be scheduled following
completion of the class. Catholic Godparents must be practicing Catholics
of the Faith. Two Catholic Godparents are
encouraged. A non-Catholic is permitted as a witness accompanied by
the minimal requirements of one Catholic godparent.
FIRST PENANCE, FIRST EUCHARIST, AND CONFIRMATION
Though immediate preparation is given to children before receiving these
Sacraments, children are expected to
receive a Catholic upbringing in their family and have formal
religious education classes (Catholic School or WCC Instructions).
Moreover, attendance at weekend mass is a duty, a necessity and a
requirement.

register
when moving into the parish. Kindly notify us when leaving.
